Barnsley Resort
Barnsley Resort is a 3,000-acre retreat in northern Georgia, located just 60 miles from Atlanta on the grounds of an 1840s estate. The resort features 140 accommodations, including a 55-room inn and 85 cottage rooms and suites, with redesigned interiors by Charlotte Lucas Design. Amenities range from a Jim Fazio-designed golf course and Beretta Shooting Grounds to horseback riding, pickleball, axe throwing, and a 10-acre lake for fishing and canoeing. Guests also have access to three restaurants, a spa, and 16,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
Recent updates further expand the resort’s offerings. Jules, a new signature restaurant led by acclaimed chef Shaun Doty, highlights Southern ingredients with a seasonal, sustainability-focused menu in a 19th-century farmhouse restored by David Thompson Studio. Resort enhancements include a redesigned saltwater pool with new cabanas, the addition of a second pool with a lazy river and waterslide, and the newly built Biergarten, a casual venue featuring regional brews and an all-day menu of biergarten classics and barbecue, in a covered pet-friendly pavilion. A new Himalayas putting course with a four-hole putting green, designed by Bergin Golf Design from Atlanta, has also been added adjacent to the Fazio golf course.
